Preceding the Times and Advancing the Food Culture in Japan
Pork has long been a favorite food choice for the Japanese people. Nowadays, a wide variety of pork and pork products of different origins and types, both foreign and domestic, offers many options from which to choose. As such, we are working diligently to continue supplying pork products of the highest quality at appropriate prices.
Refining “Waton Mochi Buta” and Proposing New Ideas
While proposing new ideas, we are continuously refining “Waton Mochi Buta (Japanese rice-cake pork)” to ensure that our customers have access to our tasty products. Even in the difficult times of fluctuating markets, and the changing of customers’ needs and desires, our concept of “producing delicious pork” remains steadfast.
From the time of our company’s establishment, we developed our products under the slogan of “Let’s produce the most delicious pork for the Japanese people!” We have evolved with the times and continue to pursue our original goal, and we shall provide our customers with the products that meet their satisfaction.
With the Japanese diet now consisting of an increased amount of meat products, coupled with fewer opportunities to cook at home, a noticeable shift from fresh pork to that of pre-cooked and/or ready-made pork dishes has occurred. Currently a large portion of the Global Pig Farms (GPF) business relies upon the supply of fresh pork, and I believe that we have the advantage of having a well-established supply-chain system allowing us to raise pigs, to slaughter them, and to process them while the pork remains fresh. In the case of processed pork, we can supply our customers with improved products derived from both fresh and pre-cooked pork--- products that are different and unique with affordable prices.
Progressing to an Attractive Pig Farming Operation
Currently, by utilizing our accurate and precise production data collected on the farms since the establishment of the company, GPF is experimenting with the applications of AI and IoT technologies, which are now indispensable for modern pig farming. We sincerely hope that the results of these projects will be fruitful not only to our GPF members but also to many other pig farms in the coming generations. We wish to create a safe, secure, and highly productive and efficient “Smart” pig operation that will be valued and greatly envied by other industries.
Enhancing the Rich Food Culture
Our next endeavor will be the creation of an enhanced rich food culture through the guidance of “Waton Mochi Buta.” Accomplishing such a far-reaching task by a single pig farmer, acting alone, may very well be out of reach. However, by uniting all of GPF’s seventy-five member producers across Japan, I believe firmly that we can establish a new business model that will advance into the next professional pig farming generation.
I wish to deliver Waton Mochi Buta onto the plates of our consumers, plates which will be filled with our thoughts, feelings and beliefs.
