DistributionOur exclusive distribution channel protects the quality of our pork
Another distinctive feature of Waton Mochibuta is the shipping system we use, which was established to ensure the quickest possible distribution of fresh meat.
The benefits of employing a dedicated distribution channel
▲We also have exclusive contracts with transport truck operators – Another of our efforts to further strengthen our brand
The Waton Mochibuta shipping process is entirely integrated, and all shipping is conducted through Global Pig Farms. And with the establishment of Shibata Packers, a directly-managed packing plant that processes and packs only Waton Mochibuta, we have created a system that ensures the quickest possible delivery of our pork to customers. (In addition, we have a network of six wholesalers across the country that deal exclusively with Waton Mochibuta. About 80% of our pork is distributed through these wholesalers and our own distribution system.)
The greatest benefit of having created such an exclusive distribution route is that we are able to prevent meat from other farms or other brands of pork from being mixed with ours. This allows us to maintain the standard of “100% Waton Mochibuta” quality. The system also offers more direct contact with consumers and retailers, and permits a high level of traceability that helps us to ensure food safety.
A comprehensively managed distribution system
▲Carcasses being examined. Only meat that passes these examinations is shipped as Waton Mochibuta.
Pork is susceptible to oxidation. This means the fresher the meat, the better its quality and taste, making it essential to ensure quick shipment. It takes only three days for Waton Mochibuta to be delivered to stores and restaurants from our processing plant. Our pork is not distributed via multiple wholesalers, and our delivery schedules are not influenced by the shipment schedules of other meat-packing companies. This is what makes quick distribution possible.
The proportion of our pork that is actually shipped under the Waton Mochibuta brand is approximately 70% of our total production volume. Each slaughtered pig is examined for essential factors including weight, fat thickness, and status of formation of red meat, based on our own carefully formulated standards. Only those that attain a specific level are processed for distribution by our skilled workers.
The creation of a distribution environment of this type means greater resistance to price fluctuations in the market, and this has contributed to ensuring the sound management of all the farms in our group.
